<<EDIT 7/13/10 9:49 AM – Sorry guys, we jumped the gun on this one. Keep an eye out for our Google map when the time comes, but for now we’ve pulled this post at the request of the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, as they wouldn’t confirm any dates.>>

Actually, RW is an entire week it runs Monday thru Sunday (not Saturday). Also, I believe the dates posted here are not entirely correct. Alot can be said for verifying information BEFORE you post it!
My apologies…when I looked back at the dates for the past two Restaurant Weeks I could have sworn that I read them as six-day spreads. Chalk it up to lack of sleep, but it’s an error all the same.
If you’ve got better information as to the dates of the upcoming Restaurant Week, we’d welcome them. But we’ve been told by two separate sources that it’s taking place that week.
Sorry for the confusion, everybody. I called RAMW this morning to confirm the dates and was asked to take down the post, which I agreed to do.
The edit is not meant to be a comment on the accuracy of the original post one way or the other.
Actually, RAMW has been very squirrelly and kind of curt this year. I called yesterday and was clearly told to call back today (7/21) for dates. Just called and was now told “sometime this week”. No apology for misinformation or any kind of kindness. Not sure what’s going on there, but they are really messing up their PR with the responses I and others are receiving.
Sorry to hear you had that experience, Sara. We’re watching and waiting just like everyone else, but we’re not holding our breath.
Restaurant Week can definitely be one of the best and worst times for RAMW – it’s a great opportunity to promote local restaurants, but each diner’s experience is only as good as the effort the restaurant puts into it. That’s definitely out of RAMW’s control. And while we understand their desire to control the flow of information to make a level playing field for everyone it’s tough with so many potential leaks.
Hope your experience on the front end doesn’t negatively impact your dining experience wherever you end up!
CS: the ramw is the best source! …i applaud your actions in calling them.
